Marinke – Woman of Stone
There’s a woman of stone
Where she came from I don’t know
There’s no place to run
There’s no place to go
She’s just a woman of stone
Where she came from I’ll never know
Could she have known
At the end of her road
There’s this cage of dirt and ground
There’s this cage that brought her down
Maybe once she was a traveller
Maybe once she escaped the town
Maybe once she walked to wonderland
Maybe once, we’ll never know
We take pictures, cause she’s beautiful
Always strong and powerful
And from all around the world
People come to see her
She’s a rock-solid sculpture
That has stood the test of time
Maybe once she was a traveller
Maybe once she escaped the town
Maybe once she walked to wonderland
Maybe once, we’ll never know
But she’s not that strong and didn’t ask to be there
And all she once was, has been long lost in time
Maybe once she was a traveller
Maybe once she escaped the town
Maybe once she walked to wonderland
Maybe once, we’ll never know
Maybe once she was a traveller
Maybe once she escaped the town
Maybe once she walked to wonderland
Maybe once, we’ll never know
